Welcome - Haere Mai

Littlies Lobby is a joint initiative between Plunket and the Office of the Commissioner for Children.
It aims to encourage New Zealanders to act in ways that will ensure all children are safe, healthy and ready to start school at age five.

Littlies Lobby will consistently communicate Six Key Messages. We will use music (our theme song "Ray of Hope") to engage with the hearts and minds of New Zealanders, as well as print communications. Support from ACP Media Ltd will enable us to reach a mass audience with the Littlies Lobby message.

Littlies Lobby Six Key Messages:

It all begins at home - Families are the foundation on which children's
lives and a caring society are built

Tamaiti i poipoia i te kainga, tae ana ki te kura, tau ana

The project is designed to create opportunities to promote the well being of children and families. In particular the Lobby will draw attention to things that parents, families, communities and society can do to give every child a chance to thrive before five. It is based on an understanding of early child development and children's rights and needs. The Lobby aims to promote the need for all children to be ready physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually to benefit from formal education.
